Agios Kirykos to Karkinagri runs the length of Ikaria's southern coast, taking about an hour and a half on the Pegasos, operated by Hellenic Coast Lines. It is a small local ferry, and the route hugs some of the island's steepest and least accessible shoreline. Most passengers are islanders rather than travellers.

Karkinagri is a small village on the remote south-western tip of Ikaria, quiet even by the island's standards. There is little here beyond a small harbour, a few places to eat and unspoiled coastline, which is precisely what draws the people who make the trip. Road access exists but is long and winding, so arriving by sea is often the easier option.

Sailings run around three times a week and are subject to sea conditions. The current timetable and fares are shown below. The boat typically calls at Manganitis on the way, so the two southern villages can be combined in a single outing.
