I'm Dave Briggs, and I write Greek Ferry Travel.
I moved to Athens in 2015 and I've lived in Greece ever since. Ferries are simply how you get around here — to the islands, between them, and back to the mainland — so I use them the way most people use a bus timetable: often, and mostly without thinking about it. This site is the notes I wish I'd had when I started: which port serves which islands, what a transfer between a ferry and a bus actually involves, and where the confusing bits are.
What's on this site
Every route page pulls its sailing times, operators and prices from a live ferry schedules database, rebuilt daily — that's the panel with the timetable in it, not something I've typed out by hand. What I add on top is the practical layer: port guides to places like Rafina, Heraklion and Igoumenitsa, written from having actually stood on those quays working out where the ticket office was.
