Astypalea to Agia Marina on Leros takes about three and a half hours on the Dodekanisos Pride, the Dodekanisos Seaways catamaran. The route runs northeast from Skala on Astypalea into the main Dodecanese chain. Being a fast craft, seating is indoors and the crossing is brisk rather than scenic.
Agia Marina is one of the two main ports on Leros and the commercial and administrative heart of the island, with a working harbour feel. Around the waterfront are Italian rationalist buildings including the clocktower and the covered market, left from the Italian administration of 1912 to 1943. Leros itself is quieter than Kos or Patmos, with calm beaches and a good deal of wartime and Italian-era history to pick over.
Sailings run about once a week, with the current timetable and fares shown in the table below. Leros has a second ferry port at Lakki a few kilometres away which handles the larger conventional ships, so check which harbour your onward boat uses.
