Chryssomilia on Fourni to Agios Kirykos on Ikaria takes about fifty-five minutes aboard the Megalochari, the small Sea Gem Maritime boat that serves the Fourni archipelago. It is an open stretch of water with nothing much in it, so the ride can be lively when the meltemi is up. The boat is built for local traffic rather than comfort, and there is no vehicle capacity to speak of.
Agios Kirykos is Ikaria's capital and main port, an unpretentious harbour town rather than a resort. The thermal spa facilities near the waterfront draw on the island's hot springs, and Ikaria's reputation as a Blue Zone for longevity is a large part of why people come. Note that Ikaria has a second port at Evdilos on the north coast, used by different services, so check which one your onward ferry uses.
The route runs only a couple of times a fortnight, which makes it a connection to plan around rather than assume. Current timings and fares are shown below. From Agios Kirykos there are larger ferries on to Samos, Piraeus and the Cyclades, so it is the practical way off the archipelago.
