This is the internal link on Fourni, thirty-five minutes by sea from the northern hamlet of Chryssomilia round to Fourni Korseon, the island's main town. The Megalochari does the run for Sea Gem Maritime, hugging a rugged and largely empty coast. For anyone staying in Chryssomilia it is the practical way to reach shops, banking and the bigger ferry connections.

Fourni town sits in a sheltered bay with tavernas along the harbour front and one of the largest fishing fleets in Greece for its size. The seafood is the obvious reason to linger, and the beaches nearby are quiet and undeveloped. The waters around the archipelago are well known to archaeologists for the number of ancient wrecks found on the seabed.

Sailings run two or three times a week, geared to islanders' needs, so the timetable below is worth checking carefully before you commit. There is also a road between the two settlements, which some find quicker. From Fourni town the onward links run to Thymena, Ikaria and Samos.
