Corfu to Ancona is a long Adriatic crossing served by the Anek-Superfast joint venture and Grimaldi Lines, taking between roughly seventeen and eighteen and a half hours. That means an overnight voyage up the length of the sea, with cabins, restaurants and vehicle decks aboard. Fares start around €75, reflecting the distance rather than any premium on the service.

Ancona is a working port city on Italy's Adriatic coast, in the Marche, and is chiefly a gateway rather than a stop in itself. The Arch of Trajan stands near the harbour and the cathedral of San Ciriaco sits on the headland above. Motorway and rail connections run north towards Bologna and Venice and south down the coast towards Puglia.
