Frikes to Vassiliki takes about an hour with Ionion P. Lines, crossing north from Ithaki to the southern coast of Lefkada. It is a short, useful hop that saves the long way round via the mainland. The boat is a small conventional ferry.

Vassiliki sits at the head of a sheltered bay and is known internationally for its thermal winds, which have made it a windsurfing and kitesurfing centre. The waterfront is lined with tavernas and the bay with board schools and rental outfits. Boat trips run from here to Porto Katsiki and Agiofili, two of Lefkada's better-known beaches.
