Glossa to Thessaloniki is the long run north out of the Sporades, operated by Seajets on the fast craft Speedrunner Jet in around five hours. It sails from Loutraki, the harbour below the village of Glossa, and heads up into the Thermaic Gulf. Seating is indoors throughout on this vessel.

Thessaloniki is Greece's second city and the boat berths on the central waterfront, so the promenade, the White Tower and the old market quarter are all within walking distance of the ramp. Roman and Byzantine monuments sit among the modern streets, and the city has a food and nightlife scene that runs well beyond the summer. Onward trains and coaches leave from the city for the whole of northern Greece.

The route operates a few times a week in season only. Current departures, vessel and fares are shown in the table below, starting around €40. The alternative is the far more frequent service to Volos, followed by a bus or train north, which takes longer overall but gives you many more options on the day.
