Ios to Katapola on Amorgos is served by Small Cyclades Lines aboard the Express Scopelitis, taking a little under three hours. The Scopelitis is a small local boat working the chain of minor Cyclades islands, so this is a slow, workaday crossing with stops rather than a direct run.

Katapola is one of Amorgos's two main ports, sitting in a sheltered natural harbour on the west coast. It is a working port village rather than a resort, and the island capital, Chora, is a short ride inland. Amorgos itself is known for its dramatic cliff-backed coastline, good hiking, and the Hozoviotissa monastery built into the rock face further along the island.

This is an infrequent link, running a couple of times a fortnight rather than daily, so it needs to be planned around carefully. Current sailings and fares are shown below.
