The last known sailing on this route was on 24 August 2026.
No timetable beyond that date has been published yet. Greek operators often release the next season’s schedules only a few months ahead, so this can be a seasonal pause rather than the end of the route. Check whether it is currently available to book through Ferryscanner.
Kalymnos to Farmakonissi is a rare and slow run, operated by SAOS Ferries with the Saonisos. The scheduled journey takes around five and a half hours, reflecting the calls made at other islands rather than the direct distance. This is a supply and local-service sailing rather than a tourist route.
Farmakonissi is a very small, sparsely inhabited island near Leros and the Turkish coast, with essentially no tourist infrastructure. There is no landmark at the harbour and nowhere organised to stay, and the island is better known for its border and military significance than as a destination. Anyone travelling here should be entirely self-sufficient.
Sailings are extremely infrequent, running at most once a fortnight and often less. The current timetable and fares, where published, are shown in the tables below. If you need to be in this part of the Dodecanese, Leros and Lipsi are the practical bases with regular connections.
