This coastal service runs the length of Ikaria's southern shore from the village of Karkinagri to the island capital at Agios Kirykos, about an hour and a half on Hellenic Coast Lines' Pegasos. It usually calls at Manganitis on the way, so the trip breaks naturally into two shorter legs. Given how slow the mountain road is on this side of the island, the boat is often the sensible choice.

Agios Kirykos is Ikaria's capital and busiest harbour, unpretentious and geared to everyday island life rather than to visitors. The town's thermal spa facilities sit close to the waterfront and tie into Ikaria's hot springs tradition. It is also where most of the island's ferry business happens, so arriving here opens up onward options.

Sailings run two or three times a week, and the current timetable and fares are shown in the table below. Plan the return in the same breath, as service on this coast is thin. From Agios Kirykos there are links to Piraeus, Samos, Fourni and the Dodecanese, with Evdilos on the north coast covering some additional routes.
