Karlovassi to Chryssomilia is a small local service run by Sea Gem Maritime Company on the Megalochari, taking around an hour and a half. This is genuine island transport rather than a tourist route, with a modest boat and a handful of passengers. It crosses from the west end of Samos into the Fourni archipelago.

Chryssomilia is a small village and harbour on Fourni, separate from the island's main town, and it is one of the quietest inhabited spots in the Aegean. There is no landmark to see; the appeal is a traditional fishing settlement going about its business. Anyone heading here is doing so for solitude rather than sightseeing.

Sailings are limited, running a couple of times a week, and the small boat is more affected by weather than the larger ferries. Current departures and fares are shown below. The same service connects Fourni town and Thymena, so it is worth checking the whole circuit when planning.
