Karlovassi to Thymena is a small-boat run operated by Sea Gem Maritime Company aboard the Megalochari, taking a little under two hours. This is local island transport rather than a mainline ferry, so expect a modest vessel, few passengers and a working, unhurried atmosphere. The route crosses the short stretch of water between the west end of Samos and the Fourni cluster.

Thymena is a small island in the Fourni archipelago with a single village, and the port is that village. A handful of tavernas line the waterfront and little else. People come here for remote island life and fishing culture rather than for sights, and it is one of the quietest scheduled ferry stops in the Aegean.

Sailings run several times a week rather than daily, and the small boat is more weather-sensitive than the big ferries. The current timetable and fares are in the table below. The same service links the rest of the Fourni cluster and Ikaria, so Thymena is easy to combine with Fourni town or Agios Kirykos.
