Ferry from Keramoti to Thassos

Keramoti to Thassos is the shortest and busiest crossing to the island, worked by Thassos Link and Thassos Seaways on open deck car ferries. The passage to Limenas takes well under an hour and often feels shorter than the queue for the ramp in August. It is a simple roll on roll off operation with no need to book far ahead.

Limenas, usually just called Thassos town, is the island's main port and sits directly beside the ancient agora and the remains of the classical town. The harbour front is lined with tavernas and the old fishing port is a short walk round the bay. Buses and hire cars are available at the port for the coast road that rings the island.

This is a high frequency service running many times a day through the season, with a reduced but still regular winter timetable. Current departures and fares are shown in the table below. Keramoti sits close to Kavala airport, which makes this the usual arrival route for anyone flying in.
