These are the sailings we recorded on this route from October 2025 to September 2026. They show what ran then, not a forecast: timetables change from year to year.

Lipsi to Astypalea heads west out of the main Dodecanese chain on the Dodekanisos Pride, taking around three and three-quarter hours. Astypalea lies out between the Dodecanese and the Cyclades, so the boat leaves the usual north-south route and crosses open water to reach it, which is why direct sailings are scarce.

Arrival is at Skala, also called Pera Gialos, immediately below the Chora, with the Venetian kastro on the ridge above the harbour. Astypalea is whitewashed and quiet, closer to a Cycladic island than a Dodecanese one in appearance, and popular with Greek travellers who want somewhere unhurried. Beaches are easy and low-key, and the Chora is a short climb up from the port.

Direct sailings run only a couple of times a fortnight, so book once you have found a date that works. The current timetable and fares are shown below. Kalymnos and Kos both have more regular Astypalea services, and the island has a small airport with domestic flights if the boats do not line up.
