Mathraki to Othoni takes a little over half an hour, on the Bamos with Crystal Ferries or the Evdokia with Kerkyra Lines. It is the shortest of the Diapontia links, running out to the westernmost inhabited Greek island. Both boats are small and both are at the mercy of the weather.

Othoni is remote and thinly populated, with a few villages and very little tourist infrastructure. The port is Ammos, a small fishing harbour with tavernas along the waterfront. People come for the isolation and the unspoiled coast, not for facilities.

Between the two operators there is a sailing most days in season, tailing off sharply in winter; the current timetable and fares are shown below. Both boats also run to Corfu, one to Agios Stefanos in the northwest and the other round to Corfu Town.
