Historically, this route ran about 0.3 sailings a day in September 2026.
Megisti to Agios Kirykos is a very long haul of around sixteen and a half hours on Blue Star Ferries' Blue Star Patmos. The ship works north through the Dodecanese from Kastellorizo before crossing towards Ikaria in the eastern Aegean, so most of the time on board is accounted for by intermediate calls. It is a conventional ferry with cabins, seating lounges and deck space, which makes an overnight passage straightforward enough.
Agios Kirykos is the capital and main port of Ikaria, an unpretentious harbour town rather than a polished resort. Ikaria is known for its slow, contrary approach to life and its standing as one of the world's Blue Zones for longevity, and the thermal spa facilities near the harbour draw on the island's hot springs. The island's second port, Evdilos, sits on the north coast and is used by some other services.
This pairing sails roughly once a week, so it is a route to plan a trip around rather than slot in casually. The current schedule and fares are shown in the timetable below. Ikaria has a small airport and regular links to Samos, Fourni and Piraeus for onward travel.
