Megisti to Fourni Ferry

Useful Resources for Your Greek Island Trip

The last known sailing on this route was on 28 August 2026.

No timetable beyond that date has been published yet. Greek operators often release the next season’s schedules only a few months ahead, so this can be a seasonal pause rather than the end of the route. Check whether it is currently available to book through Ferryscanner.

Megisti to Fourni takes around sixteen hours on Blue Star Ferries' Blue Star Patmos, one of the longest island-to-island runs the ship makes. It leaves Kastellorizo at the far south-eastern corner of Greece and works north through the Dodecanese before reaching the waters between Ikaria and Samos. On a passage of this length a cabin is the sensible choice, and the ferry has lounges and deck space for the rest.

Fourni is a small archipelago with a fishing tradition out of all proportion to its size, supporting one of the larger fleets in Greece relative to its population. The main port town, also called Fourni, sits in a sheltered bay with tavernas lining the harbour front, and the seafood is the obvious reason to eat there. Beaches are quiet and undeveloped, and the surrounding waters are well known to archaeologists for ancient wrecks.

The route runs about once a week, so it works only if your dates line up with the ship's rotation. Current departures and fares are shown in the timetable below. Fourni is close to both Ikaria and Samos, and shorter local connections to either are usually the easier way in or out.
