Seajets runs this southbound North Aegean leg with the Aquablue, taking around six and a half hours from Lemnos down to the small southern Chios port at Mesta. It is a conventional ferry, so expect a steady passage with open deck space rather than a fast crossing. Fares start around €22.
Mesta is a fortified medieval village in the mastic-producing south of Chios, built as a defensive maze of stone lanes against pirate raids. The harbour serving it is small and quiet, and the village itself sits a short way inland with tavernas in its main square. Chios Town, with the island's main port and services, is roughly 30km away, so plan how you are getting there before you arrive.
