The Lemnos to Psara sailing is one of the longer North Aegean passages, worked by Hellenic Seaways on the Nissos Samos. Reckon on around fourteen and a half hours, taking in intermediate calls down the island chain before the ship reaches this outlying island west of Chios. It is a conventional ferry, so a cabin or air seat is worth having.
Psara is remote, rugged and sparsely populated, one of the least-visited inhabited islands in the Aegean. The small harbour town of the same name has a modest waterfront with a few tavernas, and the island is best known for its part in the 1824 Greek War of Independence, commemorated with a monument in the town. Expect empty landscape and very little in the way of tourist infrastructure.
Ferries call about once a week, and connections are genuinely limited, so check the return before you commit to going. The current timetable and fares are shown below. Psara is also served from Chios, which is the more usual approach.
