Naxos to Sifnos crosses the Cyclades from east to west, and the Seajets high-speed craft, the Super Jet, takes a little under four hours. That is longer than the map distance suggests because the routing calls at other islands along the way rather than running straight across. Seating is aircraft-style inside, so it is a sit-down journey rather than a deck-lounging one.

Sifnos is served by Kamares, a sheltered bay on the west coast with a sandy beach right beside the dock and a strip of tavernas and rooms behind it. The island is known for its cooking and its pottery, and for the walking trails that link the hilltop villages of Apollonia, Artemonas and Kastro. Kamares is the port rather than the capital, and buses run up to Apollonia for onward connections.
