Nisyros to Agios Kirykos on Ikaria is a long northbound leg of around seven and a half hours on Blue Star Ferries' Blue Star Patmos. The ship works its way up through the Dodecanese before crossing into the North Aegean, which accounts for the timing. It is a conventional vehicle ferry with indoor seating and open decks for the duration.

Agios Kirykos is Ikaria's capital and main port, an unpretentious harbour town rather than a resort. Thermal spa facilities near the waterfront draw on the island's long-standing hot springs tradition. Ikaria itself is known for a famously relaxed pace of life and its reputation as a Blue Zone where residents live unusually long.
