Ferry from Paros (Parikia) to Athens (Rafina)

Paros to Rafina takes anywhere from about three and a half hours to well over eight, depending on which boat and how many islands it calls at. Fast Ferries, Golden Star Ferries and Seajets all work the line with vessels including the Fast Ferry Andros, Andros Queen, Ekaterini P and Golden Princess. The quicker sailings are worth seeking out, as the long ones tour a good part of the western Cyclades on the way.

Rafina is Attica's second port, a compact working harbour on the east coast with the town centre right behind it. It is less overwhelming than Piraeus, and you can walk from the ferry to a cafe in a couple of minutes. Its main advantage is position: it sits close to Athens airport and is well served by bus, which suits travellers flying straight out.
