Patmos to Agios Kirykos Route Map

Map of the Dodecanese showing the ferry route north-west from Patmos to Agios Kirykos.

Patmos to Agios Kirykos on Ikaria takes just under an hour on the Dodekanisos Seaways catamaran Dodekanisos Pride, or around two hours on the Blue Star conventional ferries. It is one of the shortest links between the Dodecanese and the eastern Aegean islands. The channel here is exposed and the fast boat is the first to be affected when the meltemi blows.

Agios Kirykos is the capital and main port of Ikaria, an unpretentious harbour town rather than a resort. The thermal spa facilities near the harbour are tied to the island's long tradition of therapeutic hot springs.
