Patmos to Chalki is a long catamaran run down the Dodecanese with Dodekanisos Seaways on the Dodekanisos Express, taking around four hours. The boat works its way south with several island calls before reaching Chalki. Catamarans of this type run to schedule in decent weather but are the first to be pulled when it turns.

Chalki is a tiny island just off the west coast of Rhodes, quiet and almost entirely undeveloped. The harbour at Emborio, effectively the island's only settlement, is lined with pastel neoclassical houses, and it is a short walk from the quay to everywhere in town. Beaches are small and reached on foot or by local boat.

The service runs about once a week, so it is worth checking the return leg before committing to a stay. The live timetable and fares are shown in the table below. Most travellers reach Chalki via Rhodes, which has far more frequent local connections.
