Patmos to Kavala Ferry

Useful Resources for Your Greek Island Trip

The last known sailing on this route was on 24 August 2026.

No timetable beyond that date has been published yet. Greek operators often release the next season’s schedules only a few months ahead, so this can be a seasonal pause rather than the end of the route. Check whether it is currently available to book through Ferryscanner.

This is the full length of the Blue Star Ferries Dodecanese to North Aegean line, Patmos all the way to Kavala on the northern mainland, on the Diagoras. The passage runs around twenty two hours with numerous island calls in between. It is a proper long sea journey, and a cabin makes a considerable difference.

Kavala is a historic port city in Eastern Macedonia, rising up the hillside behind its harbour, with the Panagia old quarter, a castle and the Kamares aqueduct. It is a lively city with good eating along the waterfront and the archaeological site of Philippi nearby. The ferry berth is close to the centre, so you can walk into town on arrival.

Sailings run about once a week and only during the season, so the window is narrow. The live timetable and current fares are shown in the table below, with fares starting around thirty nine euros. Kavala has an airport, and buses run west to Thessaloniki and east into Thrace.
