This is one of the longer Aegean crossings on the books, running from Piraeus right across to the far western tip of Lesvos. Blue Star Ferries handle it with the Blue Star Patmos, taking close to ten hours. It is an overnight-length sailing on a full-size ship, so cabins and reclining seats are worth considering rather than an afterthought.
Sigri is a small fishing harbour with limited tourist infrastructure, a long way in feel from Mytilini on the other side of the island. Most people come here for the Lesvos Petrified Forest, the UNESCO geopark just inland, which is the reason the port sees any traffic at all. The village itself is quiet, with a handful of tavernas and rooms.
The route runs rarely, roughly once a week and only in certain seasons, so it needs planning around rather than assuming. Current sailings and fares are shown below, with tickets from around €44. If nothing is running, the standard approach is to sail to Mytilini and cross Lesvos by road, which takes a couple of hours.
