Seajets runs Santorini to Koufonissi with its Super Jet high-speed craft, covering the distance in a little under two hours. It is a quick, direct hop north into the Small Cyclades, with allocated seating and no deck access for the passage. Luggage goes in the racks by the doors, which is worth knowing given how briskly these ships turn around.

Koufonissi, properly Ano Koufonissi, is a small island near Naxos, part of the Small Cyclades group with Schinoussa, Iraklia and Donousa. The port sits right at the main village, so there is no transfer to worry about; you step off and you are there. Travellers come for the clear-water beaches at Pori and Fanos and for the island's small scale, which it has kept despite growing popularity.

Through the season the crossing runs roughly once a day, thinning right out in the shoulder months and stopping in winter. Current sailing dates and fares are in the table below. Naxos is the other common way in, with cheaper local ferries running across to the Small Cyclades.
