Sifnos to Lavrio is run by Magic Sea Ferries on the high-speed Hsc Cat I, taking a little over three hours to the Attica mainland. It heads north across open water rather than following the usual western Cyclades chain into Piraeus, which makes it a genuinely different way off the island.

Lavrio is a working port town on the southeast coast of Attica, once a silver-mining centre and now a secondary ferry gateway for the Athens area. The harbour is compact and straightforward, with none of the gate-hunting that Piraeus involves. The Temple of Poseidon at Sounio stands a short drive down the coast, which is worth building in if you have a hire car.

The route operates roughly daily through the summer season and not at all in winter. Current departures, journey times and fares are shown below. Lavrio is around an hour and a half from central Athens by road or KTEL bus, so leave time for the transfer if you are connecting to a flight.
