This is a long-haul run north from the Sporades to Greece's second city, taking a shade under four hours on the Seajets fast craft Speedrunner Jet. The boat crosses open water up the Aegean coast, and it is a considerably longer sitting than the short island hops most people take in this group. Skopelos Town's harbour is the departure point, tucked below the hillside town.
Thessaloniki is a major mainland city and port in central Macedonia, with a large working harbour close to the city centre and its long waterfront promenade. Arriving here puts you within reach of the city's museums, markets and the archaeological sites of the north, rather than at a small island quayside. It also has a large international airport and rail links, so it works well as an end point for a trip.
