Thessaloniki to Skiathos is the quickest of the Sporades runs from the city, worked by Seajets with the Speedrunner Jet in a little over three hours. Fares start around €36. It is a fast craft with airline-style indoor seating, so it saves a long drive down to Volos and the conventional ferries but is more likely to be affected by rough weather.

Skiathos is the liveliest of the Sporades, cosmopolitan for its size and busy through the summer with a well-established resort and nightlife scene. The harbour and town share the island's name, with the small fortified islet of Bourtzi jutting out from the waterfront. Most people come for the beaches, Koukounaries and Lalaria being the best-known.

The service runs several times a week in season only. The current timetable and fares are shown below. Skiathos has its own airport and is the busiest port in the group, with frequent local links on to Skopelos and Alonissos.
