Thymena to Agios Kirykos Ferry

Useful Resources for Your Greek Island Trip

The last known sailing on this route was on 9 September 2026.

No timetable beyond that date has been published yet. Greek operators often release the next season’s schedules only a few months ahead, so this can be a seasonal pause rather than the end of the route. Check whether it is currently available to book through Ferryscanner.

Historically, this route ran about 0.6 sailings a day in April 2026, about 0.6 sailings a day in May 2026, about 0.6 sailings a day in June 2026, about 0.5 sailings a day in July 2026, about 0.8 sailings a day in August 2026, about 0.3 sailings a day in September 2026.

Thymena to Agios Kirykos takes somewhere between three quarters of an hour and about an hour and a half on the Megalochari, run by Sea Gem Maritime Company. It is a small local ferry linking the Fourni cluster with Ikaria, so it is a working boat rather than a comfortable liner. The crossing time varies with the calls made on the way.

Agios Kirykos is the capital and main port of Ikaria, a workaday harbour town rather than a polished resort. The town's thermal spa facilities sit close to the harbour, drawing on the hot springs Ikaria has long been known for, and the island's reputation for longevity keeps a steady trickle of interest. Buses and taxis run from here across to Evdilos on the north coast, though the mountain road takes a while.

The service runs around four times a week, so it wants planning around; the current timetable and fares are shown below. These small-boat schedules are weather-sensitive, so leave slack if you have a flight or a mainline ferry to catch. Ikaria has an airport and connections onward to Samos and Piraeus.
