This is the longest scheduled ferry crossing between Italy and Greece, running the full length of the Adriatic and round into the Gulf of Patras. The Anek-Superfast joint venture operates it, and the passage takes around thirty-three hours, so expect two nights aboard. Patra is Greece's third-largest city and its main gateway port for Italy, with the ferry terminal below the hilltop castle and the neoclassical old town close by. Athens is a straightforward run east on the motorway, and the Peloponnese opens up to the south.
