Volos to Trikeri takes around an hour and forty minutes on the Chania III, run by Hellenic Coast Lines down the length of the Pagasetic Gulf. It is a small conventional boat and the whole crossing stays inside sheltered water, with the wooded slopes of Pelion on the port side. A pleasant, undemanding trip rather than an open-sea passage.
