Tips for the Agios Kirykos to Karlovassi ferry
- The sirocco (southerly warm wind from North Africa) brings haze and uncomfortable heat to Greek ports in late spring and early summer; it rarely lasts more than a day or two.
- Bring a portable power bank rated at least 10,000 mAh; charging sockets on ferries are not always reliable, and island power cuts are not unheard of.
- Four-berth cabins offer the best value if you are travelling as a family or small group; the cost divided between you is often comparable to a budget hotel room.
- Many short-hop vessels do not have toilet facilities; use facilities at the port before boarding.
