Travelling from Folegandros to Syros puts two very different islands on the same itinerary — and that contrast is exactly what makes the pairing worthwhile. Folegandros is small, unhurried, and refreshingly free of the mass tourism that overwhelms some of its Cycladic neighbours, while Syros is the administrative and cultural capital of the archipelago, a place with grand neoclassical architecture and a genuine year-round city life. Ferries connect the two throughout the year, so you are not constrained to a particular season to make this crossing.
