Few ferry crossings in the Aegean feel as rewarding as the Mykonos to Santorini route. You are linking two of the most celebrated islands in Greece – the cosmopolitan energy of Mykonos on one end and the dramatic caldera scenery of Santorini on the other – and the sea crossing itself, taking under two and a quarter hours, is a pleasantly brisk way to do it. The route runs from March through to November, giving you a generous window across both the shoulder season and the height of summer. Frequency scales up significantly as the season progresses. In the quieter months you will find anything from a couple of sailings a week to one or two a day, but by June the schedule runs at seven ferries per day, a cadence that holds through July and August before tapering off again into autumn. Whatever time of year you travel, you are unlikely to be short of options.
