Turn-up-and-go car ferry, 24 hours a day
Car ferries leave every 15 minutes through the day, and every 20–30 minutes late in the evening and overnight, all year round. The crossing takes about 15 minutes. Perama is on the Piraeus side, west of the main port; Paloukia is Salamina’s main harbour.
- Tickets: Buy your ticket at the port ticket office before boarding. There is no advance booking.
- Fares: Foot passengers about €1.30. Cars are priced by length and every passenger pays, so a car with five people costs about €14 (fares rose on 1 August 2026).
- Operator: the Salamina–Perama ferry consortium
This is a different crossing from the Faneromeni ferry on Salamina’s north-west coast, which runs to Perama on the Megara side.
