Ferry from Athens (Rafina) to Marmari

The Rafina to Marmari crossing takes about an hour and is the main sea link between Attica and southern Evia. Olympian Ferries run it with the Evia Star, a conventional vehicle ferry, so cars, vans and motorbikes go across alongside foot passengers. It is a short, businesslike sailing across a sheltered stretch of water.

Marmari is a small, functional port town on Evia's south coast, near Karystos, rather than a resort in its own right. Most arrivals pass straight through, though there are sandy beaches nearby typical of this stretch of coastline. From the quay the road runs east to Karystos, which is the main base for the southern end of the island.
