Ferry from Athens (Lavrio) to Kea (Korissia)

Kea is the closest of the Cyclades to Attica, and the crossing from Lavrio takes only about an hour. Several operators work the route, including Goutos Lines, Karystia Shipping, Avlemon Shipping and Hellenic Seaways, using conventional car ferries such as the Ionis, Makedon, Marmari Express and Artemis. Kea, also called Tzia, is a green, walkable island popular with Athenians for weekends and much less known to foreign visitors. Ferries dock at Korissia on the northwest coast, with the main town, Ioulida, up in the hills a short drive inland. Rental desks at Lavrio itself are scarce; the port is a working harbour about 60km southeast of Athens and roughly 40km from Athens airport, a 30-40 minute drive.
