Tips for the Mytilini to Kavala ferry

  • If you are island-hopping across multiple islands, pack light – you will be lifting your bag on and off ferries, into overhead racks, and up and down steps repeatedly.
  • If you are connecting to another ferry on the same day, check whether both depart from the same area of the port to gauge how much walking time you need.
  • Entertainment on overnight ferries is limited – bring a book, download a podcast series, or load your phone with films before you travel.
  • Keep valuables – wallet, passport, phone – in a small day bag you carry on board; never leave them in checked luggage or in your car on the car deck.
