Ferry from Marmaris (Turkey) to Rhodes (Rodos)

This is one of the more unusual crossings on the Greek and Turkish coast, in that it isn't between two islands, or an island and a mainland port, but between two countries. Marmaris sits on the Turkish Riviera, tucked into a well-sheltered bay backed by pine-covered hills, while Rhodes Town lies directly across the water on the Greek side. The strait between them is narrow enough that on a clear day you can see one shore from the other, which makes for a short, easy crossing rather than an open-sea passage.

During the season, you can expect several ferries a day at the height of summer, with departures thinning out a little in the shoulder months either side.
