Mykonos (Tourlos) to Evdilos Route Map

Mykonos to Evdilos takes a little over two hours on the Blue Star Myconos, sailing east from Tourlos on the line that links the Cyclades with Ikaria and Samos. It is a conventional ferry with proper decks, seating and vehicle capacity, which makes the crossing comfortable even when the meltemi is up. The route continues onward rather than terminating at Ikaria.
Evdilos is Ikaria's north-coast port and the arrival point for the northern half of the island. The harbour sits beneath a hillside of white and pastel houses, giving the classic Aegean view as you come in. From here it is easy to reach the northern villages, beaches and walking routes, and the town keeps the relaxed pace that Ikaria is known for.
Sailings run a handful of times a fortnight, mostly concentrated in the summer months. The current timetable and fares are shown below. Agios Kirykos on the south coast is Ikaria's other port, served by different routings, so check which side of the island your accommodation is on.

Hiring a car
Is it worth hiring a car on Mykonos?
Worth it if you plan to reach beaches like Elia or Kalafatis and the far side of the island, since buses run less often outside town. New Port is about 3km from Chora, roughly a 13-minute drive, and Chora itself is pedestrian-only so you park on the edge and walk in. Quad bikes are a popular alternative. Tips for the Mykonos (Tourlos) to Evdilos ferry
- Most scheduled ferries – including those to Piraeus, Rafina, Santorini and Naxos – dock at the New Port at Tourlos, roughly 3km north of town, not the Old Port in Mykonos Town itself; check your ticket before heading out.
- During July and August arrive at the New Port at least an hour before departure – ferries here fill quickly, queues for ticket collection build fast, and boarding gates close without much warning.
- A sea bus links the New Port at Tourlos with the Old Port near town in about eight minutes, running regularly through the day; it carries luggage, so it's a reliable option if a taxi isn't available.
- Taxis are scarce on Mykonos and demand regularly outstrips supply at the port, especially in high season, so budget extra time or use the public bus or sea bus into town instead of relying on finding one.
- Off-peak routes to smaller Dodecanese or northern Aegean islands rarely require advance booking outside of summer – but always confirm seasonal schedules first.
