Paxos / Paxi Ferry Port

The Greek island of Paxos (sometimes written Paxi) has a new ferry terminal located just to the north of the main town. Typical of small Greek islands, it is a simple concrete platform and quite small.

At the Paxos new ferry port, there is a small cafe and ticket office. Taxis (there are only 5 on the island) will wait here for arriving ferries, as will hotel owners if you contact them for a transfer to your hotel in Paxos.

If you are staying in Gaios town, it is possible to walk from Paxos ferry port using the smooth and thankfully flat sidewalk. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the port of Paxos to Gaios town.

Note that the old ferry port of Paxos is no longer operational. All ferries now arrive at and depart from Paxos new ferry terminal.

Paxos Ferries

Paxos is one of the smaller Ionian islands of Greece, and so only has limited ferry connections.

The most popular ferry route is the Corfu Lefkimmi to Paxos ferry crossing. There is also an occasional ferry from Corfu Town to Paxos. Paxos is also connected with mainland Greece, and ferries leave and arrive via Igoumenitsa ferry port.

The only way to travel with a car to Paxos, is to take the Igoumentisa to Paxos ferry from the mainland. There’s normally one a day and the photo is shown below.
