Poros is a workaday harbour rather than a resort, and the crossing itself is an unremarkable stretch of open water with the mountains of the Peloponnese building ahead of you.

Kyllini, on the west coast of the Peloponnese in Ilia, is a functional ferry-port town rather than a destination in its own right. Most people who arrive here are heading somewhere else, either inland by car or onward to Zakynthos on another sailing. Do you need a car on Poros?

Not really. Poros is small, about 7 by 4 miles, and cars are banned from the tiny town centre in summer, so everyone parks near the port and walks.
