Ferry from Poros to Hydra

Poros to Hydra takes twenty-five to forty minutes, run by Hellenic Seaways with the Aero highspeed catamarans and by Magic Sea Ferries with the Magic 3. It is a short, sheltered run down the coast, close enough in that you keep the Peloponnese shore in view most of the way. Foot passengers only on the fast craft, which is no hardship given Hydra takes no cars anyway.

Do you need a car on Poros?

Not really. Poros is small, about 7 by 4 miles, and cars are banned from the tiny town centre in summer, so everyone parks near the port and walks. Scooters are cheap and cover the rest of the island easily, and small boats run constantly from the port to the beaches.
