Ferry from Serifos (Livadi) to Milos (Adamas)

Serifos to Milos runs with Hellenic Seaways and Seajets, using the conventional Artemis and the high-speed Champion Jet 1 and Hyperspeed Jet 4. Crossing times range from about an hour and a quarter on the fast boats to a little over three hours on the conventional ship, which usually calls at Sifnos and sometimes Kimolos on the way. It is the standard southbound leg of the western Cyclades line.

Milos is a volcanic island best known as the find site of the Venus de Milo, and its port, Adamas, is a working harbour town wrapped around a large natural bay. Yes, a car is genuinely useful on Milos. The ferry docks at Adamas, the island's main town and bus hub, so pickup is easy and buses cover Plaka and Pollonia, but the schedule is thin and most of the striking beaches, Sarakiniko, Firiplaka, Tsigrado, sit well outside it. Not strictly. Chora sits on a hill about 4.5km above the port at Livadi, and a bus, roughly fifteen minutes for two euros, runs regularly between the two in summer.
