Gythio to Diakofti Route Map
Gythio to Diakofti on Kythira is the shortest leg of the Seajets run down the Peloponnese coast, taking a little over two hours on the Aqua Jewel. The ship rounds Cape Malea on the way, so conditions can be brisk, though the conventional ferry handles it far better than a fast craft would. Diakofti is Kythira's main ferry port, a modern purpose built harbour rather than a village, so there is little there beyond the quay. The wreck of the cargo ship Nordland sits just off the harbour and is the local landmark.
