Kassos to Diafani is a short hop along the chain that links the Dodecanese to Crete, run by Blue Star Ferries on the Blue Star Chios. The crossing takes around two and a half hours, leaving Fry on the north coast of Kassos and running up the eastern side of Karpathos. It is a conventional ferry, so there is deck space to sit out and watch the Karpathian coastline come into view.
