Kasos Ferry Port Guide

Kasos ferry port is located in the port town of Fry (Fri), on the north side of Kasos Island. It’s a new ferry port, connecting Kasos with destinations in the Dodecanese, Cyclades, and also Piraeus Port.

Ferry Port Kasos

Although the Greek island of Kasos is very small, with a population of around 1200 people, it has good ferry connections thanks to its new port.

As might be expected from it’s location between Karpathos and Crete, these are the most popular ferry routes from Kasos, but there are also connections with other islands in the Dodecanese, the Cyclades and Piraeus port in Athens.

Again, thanks to the new port, these ferries now also include the larger conventional ferries capable of taking vehicles, as well as smaller passenger only ferries.

Ferries arrive and depart from Kasos ferry port every day of the week during the summer months. During the off-season, ferries are less frequent.

Kasos Port Facilities

The ferry port of Kasos is quite a basic one, although the concrete platform is uncommonly large for such a small island.

There is a simple shelter for foot passengers where the ferries dock, and plenty of parking. There is no cafe in the port area itself, although just outside in the town of Fry there are cafes and tavernas.

The local bus service (free tickets in 2023) has a drop off and pick up stop just outside the port. Although the island has two taxi licenses, in 2023 neither of the taxis were actually running.

Therefore, to get to and from the airport without a vehicle, you might want to contact your accommodation to organize transport.
